SAT Essay: The Criteria to Meet

In order to get a high score on your SAT essay, keep to the following criteria:

1. Always stick to the ideas presented in the prompt of the SAT essay. A paper that strays away from the prompt is unlikely to get high scores.
2. Try to write an essay of no less than three hundred words. As a rule, this is the ideal minimum necessary for fitting all your arguments and for making your SAT essay look complete and logically rounded.
3. When using examples, try to stick to more scholarly ones. Occurrences from your personal experience rarely sound convincing enough for the grading committee. Rather, try remembering facts you learned in your school curriculum.
4. Organize your SAT essay in clear paragraphs, dedicating one paragraph to one idea. Include an introduction and a conclusion to round your essay coherently.
