Writing a book review is not that easy. Although there are no rules as to how you will write your book review, but always remember that a book review is not a summary of the book that you will be reviewing.

Writing a book review is written with a purpose in mind, whether to point out what the strengths of the book are as well as the weaknesses or to encourage people why the book is a must have. Here are some of the things that you can include when writing a book review.

  1. When writing a book review you can include information that are essential about the book like the title, the author of the book, the type of the book, the ISBN and the like. Include information that you think is necessary.
  2. In writing a book review, you can point out the purpose of the author on why he wrote the book. This can be found in the preface part of the book. If not, then find out why was the book written by the author, what is the purpose? 
  3. You can also include when writing a book review the theme or the thesis that the book have. You can also include if it is through narration, description, exposition or argument that the author supported the thesis. 
  4. There are different ways that you can make use of when writing a book review. This is what you can use especially when writing a book review for specific genres. You can research them over the internet and see how.

These are some of the things that can give you the chance to have an idea on how writing a book review is done. This is not a format that needs to be followed but a suggested guideline that you can have.
