What You Should Know to Publish a Thesis

14.pngSo, finally you have completed your thesis. It has been a long work that you managed to write and to defend. Accept our congratulations, since now you are a real scholar and your degree is a proof for that.
 
Now let me ask you a question. Do not you want to publish the thesis you have made? Please, do not be critical about this proposition straight away. If you do not know why you should publish your thesis, I will tell you.

  1. If you publish your thesis, it will be regarded by other scholars and everybody who may want to use it as the primary source of information. Students will cite your work and all the other people will consider it as a reliable source.
  2. If you publish your thesis, it is going to be a big contribution to your field of study. Your name will be recognized in the scientific and academic circles. Does not it sound great?

If you think these arguments are convincing and now you want to publish your thesis, you should know that there are some specific rules of publishing any academic work. These rules you will find below.

  • Before you publish your thesis, you should find out about the submission procedure that is established in your institution. By the way, and it is one more reason to publish your thesis, all published works are usually delivered to such a famous database as ProQuest. There are different ways of delivering the works to ProQuest and that is why you should be aware of this procedure.
  • If you have a co-author of your work, you should get his/her permission to publish the theses.
  • Before publishing, you should carefully read and understand every point of the publishing agreement.
  • If you want to publish your thesis, you will have to provide personal information and all necessary information on your thesis. Thus, be attentive, since everything should be clear and precise.
  • Before you submit your work for publishing, make sure that everything is correct in your manuscript. Check the sequence of the chapters, pages and stuff like that.

So, these are the main rules of publishing your thesis. And please, do not hesitate about this step of your academic career.
